My CRAZY relationship with Marylin Manson

By WeegieDaking

If you couldn't ALREADY tell by just entering the home screen, I'm a pretty big fan of metal, albiet very specific kinds at the least (ie industrial, nu, shock etc etcccc). However, one out of all seemed to stand out to the public in a rather, striking way. Thats right, were talking about the one and only, Marylin Manson. You see, I've always been somewhat weary of him as an artist himself, especially considering the years that I found him (2020-2021, will be important). I will admit, I have bought into the average "preppy" view of Manson as being weird and looking like a rejected twilight character, but I have also treaded lightly with him due to the at the time groundbreaking allegations of abuse (y'know what I'm talking about). And if I'm going to be frank as of now, I actually believed those claims for a long while, far too long in fact, making me feel quite guilty for being duped so many years. It really makes me mad that somebody (not naming any names) could just go on and fake something so severe, just for whatever the hell (dont even know why lmao), as there have been real victims affected by things such as this, creating a thickening stigma. But I don't want to go any further into all THAT stuff, so lets dive into the funny parts of perception before discovering Manson.

It all started with THIS FRICKEN ALBUM COVER.

All because of this album cover for Manson's 4th track, Mechanical Animals (not a bad album btw) , I began to believe the wildly stupid fact of thinking the man was transgender. Of course, this didn't help that there was a rumor being spread around about said cover. The very rumor states that Manson used real breast implants prior to capturing the iconic image used on the album. So like the bright-minded individual I was at 13, I naturally concluded that he must've been a trans woman. Good lord, what an interesting child I was.
